Introduction
Two ancient, Oriental plane trees stand guard at the entrance to
the drive and a majestic Holm Oak dominates the lawn at Great Weddington,
a Regency Grade II listed country house, sitting in splendour in
a beautiful English country garden.
Built around 1835 by a master brewer of ginger beer, the classically
proportioned house exudes comfort and warmth. The drawing room is
mellow and relaxing and leads onto a beautiful stone terrace overlooking
the garden. Terracotta book-cloth covers the walls in the dining
room, which creates a richly atmospheric backdrop for dinner.
An elegant staircase leads past a stunning arched window to the
galleried first floor where there are two spacious and light double
or twin bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms and showers. The
Garden Room on the ground floor, also with its own bath and shower,
opens onto the herb garden
